\nRecords show the first listing to be from 1295 AD!
\nThey were known specifically for their art glass and the development of glass techniques that are still used today. <\/p>\n
\nThat same year Ercole Barovier<\/strong> was starting his career, as both director of the company and creative designer. <\/p>\n
\nin the meantime, changed its name to Barovier & Toso<\/strong>, this as a result of a merger with the Toso family,
\nwho also came from Murano and had already a long history of glassmaking.<\/p>\n
\nNot an easy task by any means but one that was achieved successfully. For, by the mid-1980s, while still being a typical Murano-based glassworks still producing
\n“artistic” glass, Barovier & Toso<\/strong> was a company whose working practices and management style were in line with modern-day thinking, truly geared to operating in the international arena<\/p>\n
\nIn addition to purely artistic works, Barovier&Toso began producing chandeliers both classic and in a more modern style, lighting for public spaces. <\/p>\n
